Arie,

Regarding deleting /tmp, did you just empty /tmp out, or remove 
the whole directory?

You do need a tmp dir, so if you deleted it then create a sym 
link to /var/tmp if you have a /var/tmp.

# ln -s /var/tmp /tmp
