Hi,

  I am about to run out of straws.  I am trying to set up dial-up operations
on the way to slip/ppp later (need to be able to dial up when out of the
country).  

  Anyways, I have a FreeBSD 2.1 machine (P90/32MB RAM) and have gotten to
the point where I can get it to connect, and present me with the login, but
then do nothing.  It looks something like this:

atdt 918-0420
CONNECT 28800/ARQ

 Mr. Data Consulting
        Do not log in if you do not have a password
        FreeBSD (phydeaux) (ttyd0)

login: blakef
Password:


And then will timeout after 300 seconds.  It looks like login is just
hanging there:
