Someone posted a mail about having the SMC card lock up the machine.  Check
out what IRQ it's being assigned to--you should be able to go into bios
and change it to another IRQ or verify it should be on an IRQ nothing 
else is using.  (Although I believe all the PCI cards share the same IRQ)..
someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.
