I had this same problem, except on Windows 98. What you need to ensure is
that in the FreeBSD box, you give permissions for everyone to view:
-rwxrwx--x
That should be (owner: read write view, group: read write view, guest:
view) if I remember right. I made that change as was immediatly able to
open the share, after hupping smbd.
