I thought you were one of the "initiated." At least that's what you stated in your reply to my browser post. Hm, let's see... [snip a lot of junk] ADVISORY RECORD LOCKING, DOOFUS. >I don't think that this should really matter, since, from >what I get out of >your e-mail, each machine is going to be only writing to >the file to show >their results as opposed to having to read it. The only >time that the file >would need to be read is in order to determine where the >next string of data >should go, which can be easily accomplished using either >binary or text >files. Hah. Did it occur to you that Unix doesn't differentiate between text and binary files? Everything is binary. Hello? Maybe you should follow your own advice and go back to Windows/MSDOS where the 'b' to fopen() and the 'O_TEXT' to open() actually mean something. Wow. This college course is really paying off. Maybe one day I'll be able to write a web browser that actually works on Unix, unlike the other morons who can't write a browser that doesn't segfault within 20 minutes tops or pull down X and every window manager on the planet with it. Fucking geezers. /> Please copy your answer to: jules@aasp.net and also me /as: /> jg@medg.lcs.mit.edu /> /> By the way, THANK YOU BSD COMMUNITY -- this is a /wonderful system, and /> while I am still learning how to best make use of it, I, /along with /> thousands of others living on this planet, thank you for /your efforts. Yes, now how do you intend to use the www when every browser is a piece of shit? I wouldn't doubt that Netscape would work for "---Andy" while she uses it for five minutes each day rummaging through the text-only stock quotes for some suburbian shithole in Arkansas. Or perhaps she considers restarting a browser every 5 minutes decent performance. -- This message has been sent via an anonymous mail relay at www.no-id.com.
