A bug in EMACS has been reported at http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/1125 . A patch to correct it is available from http://www.securityfocus.com/data/vulnerabilities/patches/emacs-20.6-patch . The report, made before version 20.7 was released, says the problem might be corrected in that version. The Red Hat people are advising their users to update to 20.7.
