A bug in EMACS has been reported at http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/1125
.  A patch to correct it is available from
http://www.securityfocus.com/data/vulnerabilities/patches/emacs-20.6-patch
.  The report, made before version 20.7 was released, says the problem
might be corrected in that version.  The Red Hat people are advising their
users to update to 20.7.  According to

the bug exists on FreeBSD.
