The bios supports booting from the cd-rom, but when it tries to boot from the cd I get this message: "boot from atapi cd-rom -failure" "No /boot/loader" At first I thought FreeBSD just didn't support the drive, but then when = I made the boot floppies, and booted up that way, when it loaded the = kernel, it did detect the drive. But it won't let me install from it. What = gives? Thanks for you help, Spencer ------=_NextPart_000_0028_01C02866.28E2C7A0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT><BR></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman"=20 size=3D3>Greetings,<BR><BR>I'm trying to install FreeBSD 4.0 on my = computer which=20 has a Compaq 2x dvd<BR>drive/20x cdrom.
