Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to ask you whether an ANTAPI (?) CD-ROM will work on the IDE controller of a 486. The details are :- CD Creative CR-563-B 40 pin plug, 3 jumpers CPU Micronics Gemini mother board both with IDE on video card and on mother board. As far as I know the CD-ROM is configured for slave operation (no jumpers). Whenever the CD is plugged into the HDD ribbon the PC will not boot (the HDD motor does not start). My employer deploys these CDs by plugging them into Sound Blaster cards. Thank you, S Hopcroft Australian Industrial Property Organisation
