Hauppauge and Audio.

As Daniel McRobb recently wrote, there are problems with
Hauppauge boards (both 848 and 878) and audio.

The problem is this:
Some Hauppauge boards feature a Stereo audio chip (TDA 9xxx or
  MSP34xx).

Some Tuners also provide a mono audio output.

On some boards, the mono output from the tuner is routed to the
audio multiplexer which then routes it to the line-out.
There is also a patch from the Audio Chip to the audio mux.

One some boards, there is no route from the tuner to the audio
mux. The only sound source is from the Audio Chip.

I will submit code in the next week to support MSP3410D and 3415D
chips (as I have both of these myself).
I will then post back to -multimedia to let you all know.

Over in the Linux world, Gerd Knorr has written a more
comprehensive driver for MSP3400C chips (and later models)
and there is a diver for several versions of the TDA 9xxx audio
chip. You can find code in the Linux kernel sources, the bttv
sources or the xawtv sources.

Roger
