still same problem.

[shell@~]# ifconfig fxp0 inet 209.249.146.67 netmask 255.255.255.0 alias
ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): File exists
[shell@~]# ifconfig fxp0 inet 209.249.146.67 netmask 255.255.255.0 -alias
ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCDIFADDR): Can't assign requested address
[shell@~]#

I tried your method and no success :(
