Believe it or not, but of the 15-20 machines I've installed FreeBSD on, this was the first time I actually tried booting from the CD-ROM. In fact this is one of the first servers that actually has one. I think I'm going to put the boot hard drive on that controller and pull a DPT RAID controller off the shelf for the data drives. This brings up a short question, is anyone running a DPT controller? If so, how did you establish the array without any FreeBSD native support? Also, the problem I was describing before that prevented a rawhide boot from disk. Are we positive that this problem is with the boot loader? What would be the best idea for debugging this? Pepper it with a pile of debugging "printf" statements? -Michael _________________________________________________________________ http://fastmail.ca/ - Fast Free Web Email for Canadians --------------Boundary-00=_BP5TYY2L3THOO49D7TH0-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
