Box is a Dell C400 laptop, kernel is a NEWCARD one. >Description: Inserting a 32bit Cardbus type Edimax EU-PC2P USB 2.0 Host Controller results in wrong identification of the card (on 5.1-REL without the ehci module) or an immediate kernel panic (5.1-REL with ehci and 5.2-BETA with or without ehci). The card is based on the NEC USB2 chipset and is supported on amongst others MacOS X. See http://www.edimax.com.tw/html/english/products/EU-PC2P.htm With a 5.1-REL kernel without the ehci module on first insertion the card is wrongly recognized as a 3Com Ethernet card (xl driver). After removing and re-inserting, the card is identified as a USB Host Controller but doesn't work. A similar looking problem was reported in: http://groups.google.nl/groups?selm=20031105121440.C4453D5CF%40www.mnemonic.no.lucky.freebsd.current where a D-Link DWL-AG650 also was recognized as a 3Com (xl) card.
