In my /etc/rc (4.4-RELEASE), from line 666:
# For each valid dir in $local_startup, search for init scripts matching *.sh
#
case ${local_startup} in
[Nn][Oo] | '')
;;
*)
# A whole bunch of lines starting every *.sh script in the
# directories pointed to by ${local_startup}
esac
In my /etc/rc.conf:
local_startup="/usr/local/etc/rc.d"
So every executable file ending in .sh in /usr/local/etc/rc.d should be
executed at boot time.
