Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-questions@FreeBSD.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hello ! After 2.1.5R was released i tryed to install it on HP Netserver LC with embedded AIC7770 host adapter. But Userconfig program has no EISA Adaptek cards in it's list. ( I've issue '-c' at boot prompt, then 'list' command. ) Definitely i have good version of boot.flp because i take 5 copies from different sites. Also i checked 2.2-960612-SNAP. There also no AHA2742. May be i have very buggy HP computer ( but it runs 2.1.5 with AHA1542 just fine ). Thinking so i try to check 2.1.5 on my robust old computer. It runs 2.1R very good and there is original Adaptek 2742 in EISA slot. Absolutely same sympthoms - no ahc device in list. Booting 2.1R boot.flp on 'new' HP LC with AIC7770 gives full success. Aic7770 detected and works. Below are summary : ---------------------------------------- Adapter 2.1R 2.1.5R 2.2 SNAP ---------------------------------------- aic7770 ok no no aha2742 ok no no aha1542 ok no no ---------------------------------------- Main QUESTION : Do you forget to delete AHA2742 from HARDWARE.TXT ? :-) Or it is only my problem ? Thank you. Sergey
