Apache might already be set to run from inetd. Check /etc/inetd.conf to see if apache is listed there. I think by default, apache installs itself in stand-alone mode by putting an apache.sh script in /usr/local/etc/rc.d. You can take a look at see what's running from inetd by looking at /etc/inetd.conf, but I don't think anything else wants to bind to port 80 (accept another web server). -Joe Clarke On Fri, 26 Sep 1997, Keith Spencer wrote: > Hi , > Is there a way I can find out what ports are being used? > Apache reports at boot that it can't bind to port 80. > Apache docs say maybe it is being used or maybe the user is set > wrong or something... > Any ideas? > > > Keith Spencer > Teacher...St Margaret Marys College > Townsville Australia >
