Sender: owner-hackers@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Some while back, I reported that the floppy install on 2.0.5 didn't work properly. I discussed this with someone on this group who said it was fixed (in later releases). I had an occasion to have to deal with a set of 2.1.0 floppies recently, as there was a machine with no CD, no modem, and not on the internet that I wanted to "BSD-ize" at work. 2.1.0 's install apparently requires that the floppies have the "usr/dist/xxx" tree on them. This is kind of overkill for a floppy. But, even when they were configured this way, the install script kept saying that the files were not there. I know this is a terrible way to have to install FreeBSD, but just in case someone has to, it'd be nice if it worked! 1.1.5 worked fine, and I have to admit I haven't tried 2.2 . Just wondering if this fell through the cracks ? regards..
