I'm currently running FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE and XFree86 3.36 on a workstation with a NVidia Riva Ultra Vanta TNT2 with 16 megs of RAM. I've also run XFree86 4.01 with it. I've never run SuperProbe on it, but I never needed to. The only OS I've found that doesn't like the NVIDIA is Solaris. Its a decent card, although my other boxen run with somewhat older Matrox and ATI cards, which I both like. There is a NVidia Riva TNT2 driver with XFree86 3.3.6, and you can use the nv driver (listed as NVidia GeForce) with the TNT2 if you want to use XFree86 4.01.
