No argument that /etc/hosts is the easiest, and usually the correct
way to go if you don't have a full time connection.

But, if you have a large internal network, or simply want to learn
about DNS, there is absolutely no reason not to use DNS.  It works, 
and it ain't that hard to setup.  But I certainly wouldn't expect the
installation program to help me do it.
