This was fixed two weeks ago when the port was upgraded to 0.9.

You will need to discuss your proposed changes with the author of aide. 
Please cc me on any correspondence you have with author.

You may want to consider trying the tripwire (2.3.1-2) port, which I 
also maintain. It produces a report that lists the changed files in one 
section of the report and goes into the details of the changes later on 
in the report. Our tripwire port is based on the GNU version.
