Our CVS repository meister(s) like it a lot and one can get copies of the perforce server for FreeBSD at the low low price of $1 (perforce's generous way of giving something back to the FreeBSD community). However, we don't want to use a commercial solution for lots of various reasons, not least of which the fact that we have one hell of a lot invested in CVS. Our CVS web stuff, the CTM delta generator, the ubiquitous CVSup program, all would have to be substantially redesigned for a new SCM tool and that would be a lot of work. - Jordan > On Sat, 13 Feb 1999, Matthew Dillon wrote: > > > There isn't much out there that we could replace CVS with, at least > > not that's proven, free, and works (mostly) without error with lots of > > people using it all at once. > > Not to go Microsoft bashing, BUT... > > We used MS Sourcesafe here locally for about 4 years, I haven't heard a > single person yet who's said "let's go back" or "CVS can't do XXX as well > as SS could." > > WinCVS is a godsend for my point-and-click-only people too. > > - bill fumerola - billf@chc-chimes.com - BF1560 - computer horizons corp - > - ph:(800) 252-2421 - bfumerol@computerhorizons.com - billf@FreeBSD.org - > > > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
