Those controllers should work fine. In fact, I think Justin has an ASUS motherboard with a builtin 7890. > My question is will CAM/789x support be included in 2.2.8, or will > it remain a 3.x thing? I've been extremely happy with a couple of > 2.2.x boxes, and would rather wait until 3.1 if possible instead of > jumping to 3.0. CAM will never be included in the 2.2.x tree. We will, however, be releasing another snapshot for the 2.2-stable tree at some point. I'm not sure when that will be, since both Justin and I are very busy with "real work" at the moment. Hopefully it'll happen within a couple of weeks, but that's not a promise or guarantee.
