My SCSI chain is composed by: adaptec 2904 + plextor CD reader ( SCSI ID 3)+ Taiyo Juden BW-50 CD recorder(2x write 4x read) (SCSI ID 1). I run RH linux 7.0 with kernel provided by installation + win NT 4 Workstation (dual Boot) When I boot the system, the SCSI adapter is properly recognised, but when begins the devices identification, the aic7xxx drivers logs: (scsi0:0:1:0) Syncronous at 4,4 Mbytes/sec, offset 15 SCSI: aborting command due to timeout: pid 1,scsi 0,channel 0id 1, lun 0 Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00 SCSI host 0 abort (pid1) timed out - resetting SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0 These lines goes on till i reset the system. When I disconnect the CD writer ( so only Plextor is connected) everithing works ok under linux, while when i boot win NT with CD reader + CD writer everithing works ok. I also used this configuration ( CD reader + CD writer ) under RH linux 7.0 but with an adaptec 1520 (ISA) and I've never had any trouble. Can anybody tell me what to do? Thanks Matteo Capuzzo P.S. the default host adapter settings are: SCSI ID : 7 parity checking : enabled transfer rate: 10 Mb/sec Sync negotiation : enabled Fast SCSI: enabled Disconnection: enabled they are fixed and they can not be changed To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe aic7xxx" in the body of the message
