I'm a little confused. I built a 4.3-R system about 2 months ago and then cvsup'ed the sources and made a custom kernel. I also d'loaded the appropriate sources and built a custom version of Apache with associated modules. As I remember it, all of my sources were in /usr/src, just like the handful of other times I have done this similar task. I have not cvsup'ed the sources since (that I remember). However, I do cvsup the ports tree nightly. Today I was reading about the telnetd exploit and attempted to patch my system following the instructions on freebsd.org but I could find no sources in /usr/src. However, I did find a directory /usr/src/usr.sbin. This directory appears to contain all of the sources (including the Apache sources) that I used previously. So I have some questions. Is this correct? And if not, what is the best way to fix this? Should I just delete the whole section and cvsup again? If I cvsup again, do I need to rebuild my world and kernel instead of just installing the patch? And finally, any speculation on how I might have gotten things out of whack? Thank you for your help.
