https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D211578 Bug ID: 211578 Summary: ports specifying libpcap ambiguously Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: marino@FreeBSD.org CC: bofh@freebsd.org, dikshie@sfc.wide.ad.jp, dvl@FreeBSD.org, garga@FreeBSD.org, hrs@FreeBSD.org, jura@netams.com, koobs@FreeBSD.org, matt@peterson.org, sbz@FreeBSD.org, zi@FreeBSD.org CC: bofh@freebsd.org, dikshie@sfc.wide.ad.jp, dvl@FreeBSD.org, garga@FreeBSD.org, hrs@FreeBSD.org, jura@netams.com, koobs@FreeBSD.org, matt@peterson.org, sbz@FreeBSD.org, zi@FreeBSD.org There are currently 10 ports that have specified a library dependency on net/libpcap ambiguously. This specification is satisfied by the base libpc= ap library, so the specification has no effect. I can't tell what the port maintainer intends with regard to libpcap. If the maintainer intends to use the base libpcap, the specification should= be removed (all platforms have libpcap so specification is never satisfied). If the maintainer intends that the ports libpcap be used, it needs to be specified as "LIB_DEPENDS=3D libpcap.so.1:net/libpcap", not "LIB_DEPENDS=3D libpcap.so:net/libpcap" Can everyone here indicate their intent? Or even commit the fix to their po= rt and reference this PR number? Thanks! John net/daq (zi) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) net/hexinject (sbz) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) net/libtrace (matt@peterson.org) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) net/tcpdump (garga) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) net/xorp (hrs) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) net-mgmt/netams (jura@netams.com) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) net-mgmt/yaf (dikshie@sfc.wide.ad.jp) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) security/barnyard2 (bofh) (non-default option, mis-specified) security/py-crits (dvl) (LIB_DEPENDS, intent unclear) security/suricata (koobs) (non-default option, mis-specified) --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
