Because before it starts it relies on BIOS to provide services (in=20 16-bit x86 mode), but after the kernel starts, it must use its own=20 drivers (32-bit or 64-bit, depending on your choice) and it seems it=20 doesn't have the right drivers. Most CD/DVD drives are standard and=20 register as ATA or SCSI drives but, as you see now, there are those that = require special support. --------------enigAA242668D13AA7C45E17B296 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGHPY+ldnAQVacBcgRAn/IAKDjPANJUIoySYTyUhpS7Fox3xe5yQCgi6we P9MphgQiUtIdL635VTy+FzQ= =Xbq3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enigAA242668D13AA7C45E17B296--
