Totem no longer handles audio CDs as to avoid conflicts with sound-juicer and rhythmbox. You should adjust gnome-volume-manager to launch one of those applications to handle audio CDs. If eject leaves an Audio CD icon behind, this probably means hald is crashing. You need to follow the steps at http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/docs/bugging.html to make a proper report.
