I'm sorry, but my patch to 'subr.c' was wrong.  It corrects
the problem I reported, but makes the login prompt like this:

  \r\nFreeBSD (proside.sumii.or.jp) (ttyv0)\r\n\r\nlogin:

So please don't apply the patch to 'subr.c'.

I think the patch to 'chat.c' is correct, but if only 'chat.c' is patched,
the 'ic' and 'ac' fields in gettytab(5) should be doubly escaped.
