If you use a "-a" option with pkg_delete, it deletes *ALL* installed packages. You'll have to build your ports up again. > as for Giorgos's post. > > i have the following: > > 4.7-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 4.7-PRERELEASE #0 > > honestly, I don't know how i got this... i thought i would get the latest > version of 4.6 becuae I have "*default tag=RELENG_4" in my cvsup file. This is the latest version of 4.X series, 4.6 is a snapshot of the 4-stable line, and the 4-stable line is now in the throes of mutating into 4.7. This looks like you've upgraded your system to -stable at least once; either that or your kernel and userland are out-of-sync. I'd suggest that you try your buildworld again (now that you've removed all installed ports). -- Jonathan Chen ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "Lots of folks confuse bad management with destiny" - Kin Hubbard To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
