Look at http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/handbook15.html#15 and you find instructions to put the distributions in C:\FREEBSD, although I could have sworn that I saw a message recently on freebsd-questions that gave a different location, but I can't find it. Anyway, with 5GB of disk, download everything you want for an initial install. I'd do the packages after the fact via FTP. Good Luck!
