It should work but it doesn’t, not for IPv6 anyway. All of my testing is done
on a fresh system but for what this is worth:

I’m already doing similar things with IPv4, it works fine as near as I can
tell. When I started adding IPv6 configuration is when I discovered something
was off about it.

I’m gonna start looking into the code for this and see if I can figure out
what’s going on, I’ll try to send an update a bit later today.
