 DVD images for the previous release were compressed with gzip.  In an
 attempt to save disk space and network traffic, they are now
 compressed with xz, which uses lzma compression.  I don't know what
 problem(s) you experienced, because you didn't provide specific
 information, but I think that you are having trouble because WinRAR
 (according to the description at the WInRAR homepage) doesn't support
 xz-compressed files. Try using one of the following instead:
 
 xzutils:
 http://tukaani.org/xz/
 (Windows binaries:
 http://tukaani.org/xz/xz-5.0.1-windows.zip  )
 
 or
 
 peazip:
 http://www.peazip.org/
 
 (These are not the only packages that will do the job, of course:
 there are others.) After decompressing the dvd image, you should be
 able to burn it to optical media as before with your favorite burning
 program -- Nero, or, for example, a Windows binary package of
 cdrtools:
