I have been reading the PPP texts on freebsd.org on how to set up a dialup by sims@ibm.com, but somehow .. i still can't get it up. as a matter of fact .. it wasnt detail enough for someone who doesnt know anything about modem commands, knowledge about how dialups work (between the client and the ISP), and much knowledge on unix commands. Question is, does anyone know a better site that teaches how to set up a dialup, from scratch? while explaining on the way, why things work .. eg. what the lines in resolv.conf mean, what the lines in ppp.conf mean, other than just shoving the reader a bunch of "you type this, then you type that, then you .." If I ever get to set up my dialup that way, I wouldnt have the slightest clue what the hell is going on and that is not why I installed freebsd in the first place. (Well, kinda sick of windows crashing too but that's another story.)
