yea, I'd expect this setup to work, but I've only done it without the other=
 OS.
We don't care about the order of the partitions for GPT (there's still a 'a'
bias in BSD-labeled disks with MBR though). We just need to find one that l=
ooks
bootable that we can read /etc/fstab off of later.

Do you have a small, reproducible test case / image you can maybe share? Wh=
en I
get a minute, I'll try to modify my qemu test scripts to add a dummy Linux
partition first.
