Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-advocacy@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Let's see if we can get an approximate count of FreeBSD machines out there in the world. I'm going to make up a short 'survey form', and I think if we sift the 'questions' list for addresses we ought to be able to get a first-level approximation of people who are using or have installed FreeBSD. Part of the survey will be for those who are queried to pass it along. Alternatively, we can add a few lines to the online registration form to account for multiple machines at one site. The e-mail, then, can be just a notification that we're asking for registration updates. Then, a running counter on the home page would be a good hook!
