On a much more modern machine, but still with ISA slots, I see the same thing. About five seconds after the ``Doing initial netwerk setup: hostname'' appears on the screen, the Scroll Lock key fails to toggle illumination of its LED and the machine is deader than a deceased doornail. However, once again, after going multi-user with the Cabal modem net disconnected, I can connect it, and give the `dhclient' command and now it works without wedging (which isn't always the case, as I recall) I have at the moment but a single card type ep/3C509, so I can't say yet if I just have a bum card; likewise, I have no Real Network into which I can plug this ep card and see if I get similar wedges during conditions of traffic. I'll play with this card and dhclient a bit more to see if I can come up with anything more useful and concrete. And I'll also see how a Different OS handles this card with the ISC dhclient. more l8r d00dz thanks barry bouwsma To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
