I'm not sure where it looks, but I assumed it was ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/branches/4.0-stable/packages. Unless it retreives a TGZ file from someplace, and that TGZ is missing the xmms for whatever reason. Might just be a glitch in time, but I haven't deconstructed exactly how sysinstall works.
