Since the actual pkg is now gone, I suspect this is really /usr/sbin/pkg. I further suspect that it's waiting for y/n input (whether to install the binary pkg) on its nonexistent stdin somewhere. I killed it (pkg) and portupgrade seemed to finish normally. This "waiting" is the bootstrapper. Can you see if this is still an issue? It should be fixed by r239663 and r239664, which were fulled MFC'd to 9-STABLE, 9.1, and 8-STABLE now. http://svn.freebsd.org/changeset/base/239663 http://svn.freebsd.org/changeset/base/239664 -- Regards, Bryan Drewery bdrewery@freenode/EFNet
