Probably, but I'm really not sure how to deal in a usb callback thread with the
SIOCSIFMEDIA ioctl.

Also, I'm still not able to identify the root cause of the issue, the fact that
the usb thread and the ifconfig ioctl thread use the same lock should avoid any
race, but for some reason it is not happening. I would still like to understand
what is going wrong.
