Hi,

First of all many thanks for working on pan - this is my favorite
newsreader.

The version currently in ports crashes upon start. The reason why and the
fix are described here:

I verified that this indeed fixes the crash on my machine.

I am wondering if it would be possible to add this flag to the port's
Makefile?
