From: Michael Grant To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, artur.zabronski@gmail.com Cc: Subject: Re: kern/122046: [psm] Synaptics touchpad freezes (psm0: lost interrupt?) Date: Tue, 05 Jan 2010 14:14:40 +0200 Dear Sir/Madam, I am reproducing this problem on an HP 8710p with 8.0-RELEASE. The notebook has a Synaptic pad+stick combo. I find it interesting that this hardware was working on 7.2 without any problems, but now in 8.0 there is this pain: the mouse freezes up for a few seconds, particularly when switching between consoles and X. As per Artur's original description, I have increased the log level and confirm that I have exactly the same problem... with some interesting additions. Seems that button 9 (right mouse button) on the touch pad also generates button 4 events. This is happening at the moused layer and this then gets passed up (so things like xev report 4 and 9 Button Release events while the button is held down). Regards, Mike Grant.
