Long shot: might this be because the CAMified FreeBSD/axp uses /dev/da disk names, whereas sysinstall still expects /dev/sd ?? Mind you, I have not checked the sysinstall code yet. Maybe sysinstall is not even supposed to do anything useful on axp yet. About the NetBSD remark: I first installed Freebsd/axp when there was not yet a working Freebsd boot floppy out there. So, the harddisk still has the NetBSD boot bits on it. This should not prevent sysinstall from finding the disks I'd say. The kernel did find 'm after all.
