I have been asking questions for the last month - I really need some help here! I have a machine that sits on the internet using an ISDN connection. I have checked the router; the machine is accessible from the outside world. Try it gandalf.otdc.com - I am even able to telnet to port 25. I have checked the MX records and do not see any problem. So, it has to be something with FreeBSD. I have a Linux box sitting right next to this one and do not have any problems with the Linux box. One thing that is different between the two platforms: when I execute hostname on the Linux box it only gives the hostname without the domain. (i.e. gandalf) However, on the FreeBSD machine it gives the FQDN (i.e. gandalf.otdc.com). Now, on the Linux box when I execute domainname I get the domain and on FreeBSD I get nothing. Is anyone out there using FreeBSD to recieve mail? I am running the latest version released by Walnut Creek. I need some place to look! HELP! Joe
