This is commonly caused by network monitoring/sniffing software, such as tcpdump or ethereal. HOWEVER, if you are not using one of those programs, it could also mean that your computer has been cracked and someone is using it to sniff the network in hopes of getting passwords, etc. If you recompile the kernel without bpf devices, it will disable this ability. -Bill -- It may be that true happiness is nothing more than the ability to *always* know the right thing to say at the right time, whereas true misery is the state of perpetually saying to oneself, "What I *should* have said was..."
