First..the 2 systems were running 2 different versions of SNMP software...one had UCD-SNMP, the other had NET-SNMP. But..that aside...as soon as I put the leading ".", it worked great. And yes, APC sells management cards to go into their "Smart-Slots". They have web interfaces, as well as telnet access and SNMP. They are a great investment if you have UPSs or Smart-Switches at different locations. OK...sales pitch done for now. :) Thanks! --Brian -----Original Message----- From: Dan Nelson [mailto:dnelson@allantgroup.com] Sent: Monday, July 08, 2002 11:45 PM To: Brian McCann Cc: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: SNMP driving me bonkers In the last episode (Jul 08), Brian McCann said: > Ok...I've got to be missing something completely obvious. I even didn't know any APC UPS devices had Ethernet interfaces. Try setting the environment variable MIBS=ALL, then run "snmpwalk public .1" . That should list all the MIBS available on that machine. -- Dan Nelson dnelson@allantgroup.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
