SSH should work fine with exceed just as it does with a regular xserver.
However you should not set the DISPLAY env.  This will make x clients attempt
to use the regular X port connections when it really should use the
already established ssh connection.  This question is not about exceed it is
about Datafellows SSH capabilities.  I assume this would appear in the
documentation on that product..
