Hi there, I already mailed that problem to -questions, but after some research i thought it would make sense to repost it here. I own a Compaq Armada E500 notebook, which is providing two PCMCIA slots - according to dmesg it's that: ---------------------- <cut> ------------------------- cbb0: <TI1225 PCI-CardBus Bridge> mem 0x41100000-0x41100fff irq 11 at device 4.0 on pci0 cbb0: Reserved 0x1000 bytes for rid 0x10 type 3 at 0x41100000 cardbus0: <CardBus bus> on cbb0 pccard0: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb0 cbb0: [MPSAFE] ---------------------- </cut> ------------------------- Well, when inserting a Lucent wireless LAN card after setting cbb.debug sysctl, this is the result: kernel: Status is 0x30000510 kernel: cbb1: card inserted: event=0x00000000, state=30000510 kernel: cbb_pcic_socket_enable: kernel: cbb1: cbb_power: 5V kernel: pccard1: CIS version PC Card Standard 5.0 kernel: pccard1: CIS info: Lucent Technologies, WaveLAN/IEEE, Version 01.01, kernel: pccard1: Manufacturer code 0x156, product 0x2 kernel: pccard1: function 0: network adapter, ccr addr 3e0 mask 1 kernel: pccard1: function 0, config table entry 1: I/O card; irq mask ffff; iomask 6, iospace 0-3f; io16 irqpulse irqlevel kernel: cbb_pcic_socket_enable: kernel: cbb1: cbb_power: 0V kernel: cbb1: cbb_power: 5V kernel: wi0: <Lucent Technologies WaveLAN/IEEE> at port 0x100-0x13f irq 11 function 0 config 1 on pccard1 kernel: wi0: [GIANT-LOCKED] kernel: wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0000; event status 0x8000 kernel: wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0000; event status 0x8000 kernel: wi0: timeout in wi_cmd 0x0000; event status 0x8000 kernel: : init failed kernel: device_probe_and_attach: wi0 attach returned 6 But quite more strange is, the complete system does hangup if i insert a CompactFlash card adapter. There is nothing in the log to report. Both cards were working fine with OLDCARD style on FreeBSD 4.10. I quite new to NEWCARD and devd, so any hints welcome.
