<oliverko> I can't understand it - FreeBSD should first look into /etc/hosts and find
<oliverko> a21064 and p3x2lx (the IPs belong to the network segment) and shouldn't ask
<oliverko> the nameservers from my ISP. Why aren't the names resolved? The nameservers
<oliverko> should only asked if FreeBSD can't find the hostname in /etc/hosts ?!

Which version of FreeBSD are you using? If you are using 4.0-RELEASE,
please apply following patches:

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/lib/libc/net/getaddrinfo.c.diff?r1=1.9&r2=1.9.2.1
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/lib/libc/net/name6.c.diff?r1=1.6.2.1&r2=1.6.2.2
