You should use a supported NIC.  One of:

device al0
device ax0
device de0
device fxp0
device le0
device mx0
device pn0
device rl0
device sf0
device tl0
device vr0
device wb0
device xl0


Note that the 'le0' is the lance ethernet on TurboChannel boxes, not
an isa card..
