If the support for the card was compiled into the kernel ('device pcm'),
you should be able to see it in dmesg with 'dmesg | grep sbc0'.

If you also made the device nodes ('sh MAKEDEV snd0' in /dev/) you can do
'cat /dev/sndstat'.
